NASCAR Chicago Race: Late-Race Chaos Involving Logano and Chastain

The NASCAR Cup Series race at Chicago culminated in dramatic late-race contact as Ross Chastain and Joey Logano exchanged blows on the track. Following a late restart, Chastain was spun sideways entering Turn 1, which triggered a chain reaction that ultimately involved Logano and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Video evidence reveals that Logano, driving the No. 22 Ford, was propelled into Chastain as the incident unfolded. Chastain quickly recovered, retaliating against Logano in the next corner, leading both drivers to spin, while Stenhouse’s race ended prematurely. Logano finished 11th, just behind Chastain.

Logano expressed his frustration on team radio: "Ross better get the f** information right before he wrecks somebody." Post-race, he clarified to FOX Sports that Chastain admitted to intentionally wrecking him. "He should get fined… that’s not okay," said Logano.

Chastain’s aggressive driving style is well-documented, and this incident marks another chapter in a contentious rivalry, which has seen clashes at events including COTA and Martinsville. Logano described Chastain’s conduct as "Typical Ross. He just sees red and does dumb stuff."

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. lightened the mood by sharing a video of a watermelon being smashed, a nod to Chastain’s background as an eighth-generation watermelon farmer.

This race further illustrates the escalating tensions in the field, particularly between these two competitive drivers known for their aggressive tactics.
