Corey LaJoie Returns to Craftsman Truck Series with Spire Motorsports
Corey LaJoie is set to participate in nine of the final 13 races of the Craftsman Truck Series, rejoining Spire Motorsports in the No. 07 Chevrolet starting this Saturday at Michigan International Speedway. LaJoie, who also serves as a commentator for five NASCAR Cup Series events on Prime Video, aims to elevate the team’s competitive standing.
LaJoie’s schedule includes key races at Pocono, Lime Rock, Indianapolis, and Watkins Glen, culminating in his return at Richmond Raceway on August 8 to complete the season. “I’m looking forward to getting back in the seat and chasing some NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series wins,” LaJoie stated. He added, “The No. 07 team has been bringing some fast trucks to the track this year and are looking for a spot in the owner’s playoffs.”
Spire Motorsports has recorded one win this season, achieved by Kyle Larson at Homestead-Miami Speedway. With just six races remaining in the regular season, LaJoie’s experience will be vital for the No. 07 team as they strive for an owner’s championship.
Jeff Dickerson, co-owner of Spire Motorsports, emphasized LaJoie’s integral role in the team’s history: “When discussing our best path to bring Spire our first Craftsman Truck Series championship, the driver we were all talking about was Corey LaJoie. He is synonymous with what we’ve built here over the last few years and deserves this opportunity.”
LaJoie has previously made five starts in the Truck Series, with his last appearance occurring during the 2024 season opener at Daytona. This return marks a crucial moment for both LaJoie and Spire Motorsports as they seek to capitalize on momentum heading into the playoffs.
