Kansas Speedway Report: Larson Dominates AdventHealth 400 for Third Victory

Kyle Larson and the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports team delivered a commanding performance at Kansas Speedway, securing their third victory of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season in the AdventHealth 400. From the outset, Larson showcased his prowess, starting from the pole and leading an impressive 221 of 267 laps, ultimately finishing the race with a total of 61 points—a season high.

Larson not only swept both race stages but also clinched the Xfinity Fastest Lap of the day. His victory marks his 32nd career win, a notable milestone as he now ties with Christopher Bell for the most wins in the first 12 races of the season.

Reflecting on his performance, Larson acknowledged the challenges he faced: “I was trying really hard to pace myself… Chase [Elliott] was really good, so I felt I needed to try to do better on my end.” Despite experiencing grip issues towards the end of the race, he credited his team for their execution and support. "Glad to not win by an inch this time," he added, contrasting this victory with his narrow win from the previous year.

Christopher Bell finished in second place, followed by Ryan Blaney and Chase Briscoe in third and fourth, respectively. Alex Bowman rounded out the top five. Notably, Josh Berry finished sixth, achieving the highest position for 23XI Racing in his first start of the season.

Chase Elliott faced adversity, finishing 15th after leading for 29 laps. A pit stop mishap caused him to lose crucial track position while Kyle Busch crossed the line in 21st, following a spin after being involved in a multi-car incident.

The race featured 15 lead changes among nine drivers and was marked by seven cautions. Early race incidents included a blown engine from AJ Allmendinger and a tire issue that sidelined Brad Keselowski while he was running second. Denny Hamlin, enduring a clutch problem throughout the race, retired after breaking his transaxle during a pit stop.

The AdventHealth 400 concluded with a decisive final restart 49 laps from the finish, allowing Larson to extend his lead and ultimately secure the win, further solidifying his status in the championship standings.
