Ty Dillon and Ty Gibbs Set for In-Season Challenge Finale

Indianapolis, IN – In an unexpected turn of events, Ty Dillon has advanced to the finals of the $1 million in-season bracket challenge following a gripping performance at the Brickyard 400. Dillon, driving the No. 10 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet, faced John Hunter Nemechek in the semifinals, where strategic maneuvering secured his spot in the final against Ty Gibbs.

Dillon entered the five-week challenge as the last seed but achieved victories over notable competitors including Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, and Alex Bowman. His decisive moment came during a late-race restart at Dover, enabling him to overtake Nemechek and subsequently capitalize on a caution that provided a crucial wave-around.

“I was like, come on boys, just make it the white flag,” Dillon remarked. “It was quite the battle all day… it’s one of the biggest things I’ve done in my career.”

Gibbs, piloting the No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, also impressed by defeating Justin Haley, A.J. Allmendinger, Zane Smith, and Tyler Reddick. His successful strategy involved pitting for fresh tires, which allowed him to overtake Reddick in the closing laps.

Neither Dillon nor Gibbs has secured a Cup Series victory previously; however, both drivers now face the opportunity to claim the $1 million prize next week. In last year’s Brickyard 400, Dillon finished 19th while Gibbs managed a 23rd-place result.
