Pro-Am Hypercars Set for 2026/2027 Asian Le Mans Series
BBM Sport has taken a significant step toward the introduction of Pro-Am crewed Hypercars in the Asian Le Mans Series for the 2026/2027 season by acquiring two ex-factory Gen 1 Peugeot 9X8s. The vehicles were collected from Peugeot Sport earlier today.
The UK-based team, which has established expertise in restoring and preparing Group C, LMP, and GT cars, aims to campaign these “wingless wonders” next season, having already secured contracts with two Bronze-ranked drivers.
The Gen 1 9X8s were retired from factory service following the opening round of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship in Qatar.
Current estimations suggest at least six Hypercars may participate in the opening season of the Pro-Am class, representing three major manufacturers.
This move marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of the Asian Le Mans Series, promising to elevate the competitive landscape with the integration of advanced Hypercar technology.
