2025 GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup Preview
Brands Hatch, UK – The 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup commences this weekend at Brands Hatch, featuring a record 10 manufacturers and a competitive 30-car entry list. Notable newcomers include the Corvette Z06 GT3.R and the Ford Mustang GT3, both making their series debuts on British soil.
The field is expected to grow significantly, surpassing 40 entries, as the Bronze Cup joins at Circuit Zandvoort.
Pro Class Highlights
Defending champions Lucas Auer and Maro Engel return for Winward Racing in the #48 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, looking to build on their impressive 2024 season, which included three victories and a narrow championship title by just 2.5 points over Team WRT’s Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts.
Weerts, a three-time champion, partners with Kelvin van der Linde in Team WRT’s upgraded #32 BMW M4 GT3. The duo leads the overall standings following their victory at the Endurance Cup opener at Circuit Paul Ricard.
New entrants Boutsen VDS and Emil Frey Racing showcase fresh line-ups, while GRT – Grasser Racing and Barwell Motorsport return after multi-season absences, expanding the competitive landscape.
Porsche’s Sven Müller and Patric Niederhauser look to continue momentum after securing the brand’s first Sprint Cup win at the 2024 finale, now in the #96 Rutronik Racing 911 GT3.R. HRT – Ford Performance plans to debut the Mustang GT3 with the driver pairing of Romain Andriolo and Jusuf Owega in the #64.
Gold and Silver Cups
The Gold Cup features six entries, including returning runner-ups Paul Evrard and Gilles Magnus in the #25 Sainteloc Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.
The Silver Cup boasts 11 cars from eight manufacturers. Defending champions Team WRT field an all-new line-up with Gustav Bergström and Gilles Stadsbader in the #30 BMW. Steller Motorsport, following a strong showing with the Z06 GT3.R, will have Matisse Lismont and Jesse Salmenautio in the #24.
Other entries include notable hopefuls from Comtoyou Racing, AF Corse, and Rutronik Racing, ensuring a diverse and competitive grid.
