Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA Finalizes 2027 FIA WEC Hypercar Line-Up
Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA has announced its driver line-up for the 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), marking significant changes for the upcoming season. Antonio Felix da Costa returns to JOTA after leaving Alpine’s Hypercar program, joining fellow newcomer Ricky Taylor, who remains active in IMSA with Wayne Taylor Racing.
Da Costa’s experience is noteworthy; he previously secured an LMP2 World Championship and a class win at Le Mans with JOTA in 2022. “Coming back to JOTA feels like coming home,” said da Costa. “I’m excited about this new challenge and our aim to compete for wins and championships.”
Taylor, a seasoned IMSA competitor with 32 victories, expressed his eagerness to tackle international competition. “Joining Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA is an honor,” he stated. “I know many within the team from IMSA and feel right at home already.”
The 2027 driver roster includes Norman Nato, Will Stevens, Earl Bamber, and Jack Aitken, all slated to participate in all nine WEC races, except da Costa, who will miss the 6 Hours of São Paulo due to a conflict with a Formula E event.
Cadillac’s management highlighted the dual significance of the new signings. “Antonio and Ricky are both incredibly talented and fit well into our team’s dynamics,” remarked Sam Hignett, team co-founder. Eric Warren, GM’s VP of global motorsports, noted their experience and chemistry as fundamental assets for the season.
Departing drivers Alex Lynn and Sébastien Bourdais have contributed significantly to the program’s early successes. Lynn, recovering from a neck injury, expressed gratitude for his time with JOTA, while Bourdais reflected on the rewarding challenge of developing the program.
Overall, Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA aims for a competitive edge in the 2027 season with this strategic driver acquisition, positioning itself as a formidable contender on the global stage.
