Jewiss Honored with Allan Simonsen Award at 2025 SRO Awards
Kiern Jewiss was awarded the prestigious Allan Simonsen Award at the 2025 SRO Awards held in Venice, further solidifying his successful season in the British GT championship alongside teammate Charles Dawson. The duo clinched the GT3 Drivers’ and Teams’ titles for 2 Seas Motorsport at the Donington Decider on October 4-5, 2025, before the award’s recipient was revealed during the ceremony on November 22.
Jewiss’s impressive performance in the #42 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo included three race victories, which were pivotal in earning him this honor. The Allan Simonsen Award, named in memory of the Danish driver who tragically lost his life at the 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours, recognizes sportsmanship and talent within the motorsport community.
Jewiss expressed his gratitude, stating, “It’s been a rollercoaster two years, so to stand here at the end of it all as British GT champion and Allan Simonsen Award winner is a little bit surreal.” He acknowledged the legacy of previous winners, including 2023 champion Dan Harper and four-time champion Jonny Adam, highlighting the significance of the award.
At the awards ceremony, Beachdean’s Andrew Howard and Tom Wood were celebrated for their GT3 Silver-Am category triumph, while Optimum Motorsport’s Marc Warren and Jack Brown celebrated their GT4 championship. Brown made history as the first GT4 driver to secure back-to-back titles.
Additionally, Marvin Kirchhöfer and Charlie Robertson were recognized for their standout performances as the fastest GT3 and GT4 drivers, respectively, based on the highest number of fastest race laps throughout the season. The event was attended by notable figures in motorsport, including ACO President Pierre Fillon and FIA WEC CEO Frédéric Lequien, underscoring the event’s prestige within the industry.
