Lamborghini Unveils Temerario Super Trofeo Ahead of 2027 Debut
Lamborghini has officially revealed the first designs of the Temerario Super Trofeo, set to make its racing debut in 2027 across European, North American, and Asian championships. This new model marks the next iteration in the brand’s one-make racing series, succeeding the Huracán, which debuted in 2015 and received two Evo updates in 2018 and 2022.
The anticipated launch follows the introduction of the Temerario GT3, scheduled to compete in the 2026 Twelve Hours of Sebring. Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, emphasized the importance of customer connection in motorsport: “Our customers have constantly asked us for a product designed for the track… With the Temerario Super Trofeo, we are reaffirming our promise to deliver a pure race car.”
Since its inception in 2009, Lamborghini’s Super Trofeo series has conducted over 560 races globally with the Gallardo and Huracán models. The new Temerario Super Trofeo will utilize the same twin-turbo V8 engine and six-speed sequential gearbox as the GT3 variant, enabling a seamless transition for drivers ranging from amateurs to professionals.
The technical specifications include an aluminum and carbon-fiber reinforced plastic hybrid chassis, a fully-integrated FIA roll cage, adjustable traction control, and anti-lock brakes. Rouven Mohr, Chief Technical Officer at Lamborghini, stated, “The Temerario Super Trofeo is the ultimate expression of our ‘fun-to-drive’ philosophy,” reinforcing its role as an ideal entry point into GT competition.
With these advancements, Lamborghini continues to solidify its commitment to motorsport and customer engagement within the racing community.
