Ligier JS2 RS to Debut in GT2 European Series Finale
The Ligier JS2 RS will make its competitive debut in the GT2 European Series at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, Portugal, from October 16-18, 2026. High Class Racing, a former champion team, will field the car, featuring drivers Anders Fjordbach and Audunn Gudmundsson in the Pro-Am class, entry #77.
Fjordbach, a veteran of the series, previously secured the 2021 Pro-Am Drivers’ Championship but has not competed in the GT2 European Series since 2022. Gudmundsson, transitioning from the Michelin Le Mans Cup as an LMP3 racer, will embark on his first GT2 European Series outing.
The addition of Ligier brings the total number of manufacturers participating in this year’s revitalized series to nine. The season finale will see a competitive field of 17 entries vying in two sprint races.
This race promises to be a significant event, showcasing the sustained growth and diversity within the GT2 European Series.
