Manthey Racing Unveils Driver Line-Up for 2025/26 Asian Le Mans Series Title Defense
Defending champions Manthey Racing have confirmed their driver roster for the upcoming Asian Le Mans Series (ALMS) season, set to commence from December 12-14 at the Sepang International Circuit. The German team aims to build on a strong debut season in which they secured a 1-2 finish in the GT teams’ championship, achieving podiums in five of six races.
Driver Line-Up Details
Manthey will again field two Porsche 911 GT3 Rs (992). The #10 car features a returning lineup consisting of reigning drivers’ champions Antares Au and Klaus Bachler, complemented by Asian Le Mans rookie Loek Hartog—this trio previously raced together in the 24 Hours of Le Mans this past June.
Bachler is poised to make history by potentially claiming a third consecutive GT title, a feat that would make him the first driver to defend a class title twice in the ALMS.
Notably, Joel Sturm, the third driver from last season’s #10 crew, will not return due to an upgrade to Gold classification in 2025.
Sister Car Line-Up
The sister #92 Porsche will see Richard Lietz partnered with François Hériau, along with a Silver-ranked driver to be announced. Hériau, a current competitor in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), is known for his competitive performances and brings valuable experience to the Manthey team after winning the LMP3 title the previous season.
Key Statements
Au expressed enthusiasm about returning to ALMS, stating, “I believe this year’s journey has helped me evolve… The GT field looks to be the most competitive ever.” Hériau echoed this sentiment, emphasizing his eagerness to team up with Manthey and his confidence in their title aspirations.
Patrick Arkenau, Manthey’s racing director, added, “We are very proud and excited to be competing again with two cars… Our goal is clear: to defend the championship title.”
As Manthey Racing gears up for another competitive season, their strong driver line-up and commitment to excellence position them as formidable contenders in the ALMS landscape.
