Indianapolis 8 Hour: Turner Motorsport Leads Superpole Qualifying
The #29 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 EVO posted the fastest average lap time during the three-stage qualifying for the Indianapolis 8 Hour, securing its position for the Superpole session. Connor De Phillippi and Robby Foley were key contributors, with De Phillippi recording a groundbreaking lap of 1:22.938, the first to break the 83-second barrier during the event. Foley sealed the session with a rapid 1:22.830.
The trio of De Phillippi, Foley, and Justin Rothberg achieved an average time of 1:23.460.
Claiming second overall and leading the Pro-Am class was the #69 Archangel Motorsports McLaren 720S GT3 EVO, driven by Todd Coleman, Aaron Telitz, and Tom Fleming. Fleming notably clocked in a 1:22.918 during Q3.
The #80 Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO (Lin Hodenius/Luca Stolz/Álex Palou) ranked third overall, followed closely by the #6 Dollahite Racing Ford Mustang GT3 Evo (Scott Dollahite/Alex Sedgwick/Christopher Mies), despite Mies experiencing a brake failure that required careful handling to avoid a serious incident.
Rounding out the top five was the #12 AF Corse USA Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo. The #34 JMF Motorsports Mercedes-AMG and the #32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R also made the cut for Superpole, with Güven’s strong performance earning a best lap of 1:22.872, second-fastest in Q3.

Wright Motorsports faced a setback with its entries, as the #31 Pro-Am car qualified 11th and the #120 Pro car fell to 14th after leading initially.
Qualifying was delayed by 30 minutes due to technical issues with the timing system. Superpole is scheduled to commence at approximately 6:10 PM ET.
