KPX Motorsport: A New Chapter in Endurance Racing
Peter Kox, a veteran of endurance racing, has announced the establishment of KPX Motorsport, a new venture formed in collaboration with longtime friend and co-driver Nico Pronk. Based in Germany, the team has undergone extensive preparation, indicating a committed effort to compete at competitive levels.
“We have a fully functioning team,” Kox stated. “The technical side is managed by Uwe Isert, a former DTM team owner, and we’ve taken delivery of a new BMW M4 GT3 Evo.” Isert, an influential figure in Kox’s career, has been instrumental in the team’s formation.
The squad has plans to receive new BMW M2 Racing cars, allowing them to implement a ladder program and participate in various series, including the 24H Series and additional European races. “We’re not in too much of a rush. We want the right people to bring the team in a direction that we are all happy with,” Kox affirmed, highlighting a focus on quality within all facets of the team.
The initial testing phase has already commenced at the Red Bull Ring, with plans to evaluate potential drivers in a test session at Paul Ricard in October. “We’ll be discussing our options, including Creventic and GT Masters,” Kox noted, while emphasizing that driving roles would be secondary to team development.
The inclusion of the next generation is also on the agenda, with Pronk’s son and Kox’s daughter, former racer Stephane, expected to play substantial roles in KPX Motorsport as the project evolves. This collaborative effort positions KPX Motorsport as a promising name in the endurance racing landscape, combining experience and fresh talent.
