2026 Mustang Challenge North America Schedule Announced

Ford has officially unveiled the 2026 schedule for the Mustang Challenge North America, marking the series’ third season. The one-make series will consist of 12 races at six prominent racetracks across the United States, aligning with events in the IMSA and FIA WEC calendars.

Launching in March and concluding in September, the season will feature races at:

  • Sebring International Raceway (March 18-20, w/IMSA)
  • WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca (May 1-3, w/IMSA)
  • Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (June 5-7, w/IMSA)
  • Watkins Glen International (June 25-27, w/IMSA)
  • VIRginia International Raceway (August 21-23, w/IMSA)
  • Circuit of The Americas (September 4-6, w/WEC)

The initial five rounds will be part of the IMSA support program, while the season finale coincides with the Lone Star Le Mans weekend in Texas.

The competition will utilize the 500-horsepower, V8-powered Mustang Dark Horse R, a purpose-built racer derived from the street-legal Mustang Dark Horse. The series will operate under a two-class format — Dark Horse and Dark Horse Legends — designed to accommodate both emerging and experienced drivers.

Chris Ward, Ford Performance’s global one-make series manager, emphasized, “Every decision for Mustang Challenge North America is for the best experience of our customer… We feel we have the best blend of tracks for our drivers and teams.”

The Mustang Challenge caters to young drivers with Silver FIA ratings and Bronze-rated drivers aged 45 and older. Each race weekend will include two 30-minute practice sessions, a 15-minute qualifying session, and two 45-minute sprint races.
