Bryan Herta Autosport Forms Key Alliance with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Ahead of 2026 IMSA Season
Bryan Herta Autosport (BHA) has officially announced a partnership with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports as it prepares to compete in the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s LMP2 category. The team will field the No. 52 ORECA 07-Gibson, operating from BHA’s new facility in Brownsburg, Indiana.
Under the leadership of Team Principal Bobby Oergel, PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports brings a formidable pedigree, having secured five of the last six IMSA LMP2 titles, including a recent championship in 2024 in partnership with Inter Europol Competition. This alliance promises to leverage PR1’s LMP2 expertise alongside BHA’s extensive resources and operational strength. Notably, BHA has enjoyed remarkable success in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, clinching six consecutive TCR manufacturers’ championships and a total of five Drivers’ and Teams’ titles from 2019 to 2023.
Bryan Herta, President of BHA, expressed confidence in the new collaboration: “PR1/Mathiasen has set the benchmark in LMP2 competition, and we’re excited to partner with Bobby and Lisa Oergel and their entire team. We believe this program has all the right ingredients to contend at the front.”
Oergel echoed this sentiment, stating, “This partnership is built to compete at the front of LMP2. Bryan Herta Autosport brings depth and resources that complement our program. We’re excited for 2026.”
The combination of expertise, resources, and a shared vision positions the new venture as a strong contender in the IMSA LMP2 landscape.
