IDEC Sport Finalizes Driver Line-Up for 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans
Le Mans, France – IDEC Sport has confirmed its driver roster for the highly anticipated 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, officially welcoming 19-year-old Valerio Rinicella to its #28 ORECA 07 – Gibson LMP2 team. This marks Rinicella’s debut at the iconic endurance race.
Rinicella, a participant in Genesis Magma Racing’s Trajectory Programme and currently competing in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) with IDEC’s #18 ORECA, will team up with experienced co-drivers Paul Lafargue and Job van Uitert. Notably, Paul-Loup Chatin, their regular co-driver, will be unavailable for this event due to his commitments in the Genesis Hypercar category.
IDEC Sport aims for a strong comeback after a challenging 2025 race, where both entries faced retirements due to wheel issues while contending for podium positions.
“I’m really very happy to be participating in this race. It’s a childhood dream coming true,” said Rinicella. He expressed both excitement and awareness of the challenges ahead, particularly regarding strategy in the face of competitive traffic and the unique demands of Le Mans.
“I want to learn as much as possible, whether on the track, in the simulator, or through physical training. A real challenge awaits me,” Rinicella added.
The 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans is scheduled for June 10-14, 2026.
