Andrea Kimi Antonelli Balances Exams and F1 Success
Montreal, Canada – After securing his first Formula 1 podium at the Canadian Grand Prix, Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli returned home to take an important academic exam, foregone the glitz of the F1 movie premiere in New York City.
Post-exam, the 18-year-old reflected, “It went well, it didn’t go easy. I tried to do my best, and now I wait for the result.” While balancing his debut F1 season and studies, Antonelli is focused on maintaining his academic performance despite the challenges of his racing commitments.
Previously, he elaborated on his struggle with the dual demands: “I’m not able to attend school, but I’m trying to study as much as I can in my free moments. It’s really important to manage that side, not to do too much to save energy, especially before a race weekend.”
Moving beyond academics, Antonelli also hosted classmates at the Imola F1 paddock, showcasing the behind-the-scenes realities of motorsport. He noted, “I organized this — thanks also to some people at Mercedes. It’s a good way for them to see this world they usually only watch on TV.”
Since stepping into Lewis Hamilton’s vacated seat, Antonelli has impressively accumulated 63 points and currently ranks seventh in the drivers’ standings. His initial season performance highlights his potential in the sport.
