Motorsports News: Brad Pitt’s Potential Move to Racing
In a surprising twist in the motorsports narrative, McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown suggests that Brad Pitt may pursue a racing career post his involvement in the upcoming Formula 1 film. Similar to Patrick Dempsey, who transitioned from acting to endurance racing, Pitt’s enthusiasm for motorsports could spark a new chapter in his career.
Pitt, alongside co-star Damson Idris, drove modified Formula 2 cars designed to mimic F1 vehicles during filming. More recently, he tested McLaren’s 2023 MCL60 at the Circuit of The Americas, clocking a peak speed of 197 mph, just shy of his goal of 200 mph.
Brown praised Pitt’s commitment during a press event at Silverstone: “Brundle had him covered, but I’ll tell you what, Brad was impressive. He wanted to see his data, thoroughly enjoyed it." He likened Pitt’s potential transition to that of legendary actor Paul Newman, who famously embraced motorsports.
In an appearance on the Beyond The Grid podcast, Pitt reflected on his driving experience, stating, “I’ve just never experienced anything more profound in my life… This is such a unique feeling and an absolute high." He expressed gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting his time spent with McLaren driver Lando Norris.
As Pitt’s journey in motorsports continues to unfold, the industry watches closely for his next moves.
