Leclerc’s Frustration After Imola Grand Prix Performance
Imola, Italy – Charles Leclerc finished sixth in the Formula 1 Imola Grand Prix, expressing deep dissatisfaction with his performance and that of Ferrari. After qualifying 11th, Leclerc managed to score points but emphasized that such results are unacceptable for a driver of his caliber.
Leclerc, currently 85 points behind championship leader Oscar Piastri, has only made one podium appearance this season, achieving third place in Saudi Arabia. "When you start P11, as a driver, I just cannot accept the situation we are in," he stated. "I took risks today, and I don’t think I was at fault in the incident with Pierre Gasly; it was simply a racing incident."
Throughout the race, Leclerc noted that he had to push to the limits, remarking, “I knew from the moment that I didn’t take the pit stop on the second safety car that it was going to be a very difficult race.”
Looking ahead, Leclerc acknowledged the challenges of the upcoming race in Monaco, where he previously secured his first win last season. "Monaco is going to expose quite a few weaknesses of our car," he shared, revealing uncertainty about the team’s performance despite hopes for a surprise.
This latest result raises questions about Ferrari’s current form as they prepare for next weekend’s Monte Carlo showdown. Leclerc’s statements signal both frustration and determination as the championship race continues.
