Sergio Perez Explores F1 Return Amid Rising Speculation
Isack Hadjar, the rising star in motorsports, recently indicated that Sergio Perez could be on track for a return to Formula 1, confirming that there is considerable interest in the driver for the upcoming 2026 season. Perez, who spent four years at Red Bull Racing, has been without a seat since being released after the 2025 season.
Despite his recent departure, Perez remains optimistic about potential opportunities. "If I find a project that motivates me fully… where the team believes in me, it would be very attractive to consider it," Perez stated in a recent interview with F1.com, emphasizing the importance of a compelling project to re-enter the sport.
He also noted, "I’ve been approached by a few teams since Abu Dhabi," highlighting that discussions are ongoing and may intensify as the season progresses.
Among the teams linked to Perez is the newly established Cadillac F1 team, which is set to debut in 2026 but has yet to finalize its driver lineup. Hadjar expressed confidence in Perez’s capabilities, stating, "He’s definitely F1 calibre… There’s something going on. He deserves a spot there."
As the grid prepares to expand to 22 cars, Perez’s future in F1 remains uncertain but promising, contingent on finding a suitable team willing to embrace his extensive experience and skills.
