Christian Horner Reaffirms Commitment to Red Bull Amid Ferrari Speculation
Barcelona, Spain – Christian Horner, team principal of Red Bull Racing, has firmly dismissed ongoing speculation regarding a potential move to Ferrari. Rumors have circulated that Ferrari chairman John Elkann sees Horner as a prime candidate to lead the Scuderia, given his success with both Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen.
Horner, who has been with Red Bull since its inception in 2005 and recently extended his contract until 2030, addressed the matter during the Spanish Grand Prix. "It’s always flattering to be associated with other teams, but my commitment is 100% with Red Bull," he stated. “It always has been and certainly will be for the long term.”
He further downplayed rumors, acknowledging industry speculation but asserting, “People in the team know exactly what the situation is." Horner humorously noted, “My Italian is worse than Flavio [Briatore’s] English. So, how on earth would that work?”
Ferrari, currently fourth in the Constructors’ Championship, has been undergoing a transition under team principal Fred Vasseur, who took the reins prior to the 2023 season. Vasseur has aimed to strengthen the team, recently securing seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton to partner Charles Leclerc.
As the championship progresses, it remains clear that Horner’s focus remains squarely on Red Bull, reinforcing the team’s pursuit of continued dominance in Formula 1.
