Keanu Reeves Expresses Interest in Driving F1 Car Following Brad Pitt’s Experience
Circuit of The Americas, Austin – Actor Keanu Reeves has publicly expressed a desire to experience driving a Formula 1 car, a wish ignited after witnessing fellow Hollywood star Brad Pitt take the wheel of the McLaren MCL60 earlier this year.
In a recent interview with Sky Sports F1 ahead of the British Grand Prix, Reeves discussed his passion for motorsport and his upcoming role as executive producer of a documentary series focused on the newly established Cadillac F1 team. “I’m honoured to be involved in telling this story. It’s Cadillac, it’s Formula 1. So to have the opportunity to be part of this is just super exciting,” Reeves stated.
This is not his first engagement with F1-related content; his previous work on the acclaimed documentary Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story captivated audiences with the narrative leading to Jenson Button’s 2009 championship victory.
When asked about the possibility of driving an F1 car, Reeves displayed his characteristic humility: “I would like to start on a simulator and just see if I can get it going. And then if that could work, then I’ll get in the car.”
Despite his nervousness when discussing driving Jenson Button’s championship-winning Brawn machinery, he acknowledged the excitement of the experience. "I was, I was! It was your car – I’m not gonna like… sit in your car!" he responded after Button encouraged him.
Reeves remains deeply engaged with the sport, not only as a fan but also as a co-owner of the motorcycle company ARCH. He commented on the 2025 F1 season, noting the intriguing developments and intense competition: “It’s been a really amazing season… so many new kids coming up. Lots of intrigue.”
With significant fan interest in potential sequels to the F1 film, Reeves clarified his position: “No, not at all! I’m just happy to be a fan. I’m here to hang out and try to be a storyteller.”
As the F1 season progresses, Reeves’ involvement in the sport’s storytelling continues to provide a unique intersection of entertainment and motorsport, captivating both fans and industry professionals alike.
