Lia Block to Drive Nigel Mansell’s FW14B at 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed
Lia Block, a driver in the Williams Academy and F1 Academy, will take part in the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed driving the iconic FW14B, a car famed for its groundbreaking technology and championship wins. This event commemorates 75 years of Formula 1 and will also feature Jamie Chadwick, a Williams driver ambassador, and the team principal James Vowles behind the wheel.
Reflecting on her upcoming opportunity, Block stated, "Driving an F1 car up the hill at Goodwood was a dream come true. This year, driving the FW14B will be an iconic experience in an iconic car."
Block’s preparations for the event began with her first seat fitting in the FW14B, which she described as a moment of honor and shock. Her enthusiasm resonates with the event’s significance, drawing many motorsport enthusiasts together.
Vowles emphasized the FW14B’s legacy, noting that it "had technology that was way ahead of its time," and its historical contributions to Williams’ success. He added, “Taking it to Goodwood is going to be incredible.”
Also gracing the event will be the 1992 Formula 1 World Champion Nigel Mansell, who will drive the FW14B as well as the FW11, further elevating the occasion’s importance.
The festival promises to be a highlight for both drivers and motorsport fans, celebrating the sport’s historic achievements.
