Bortoleto Addresses New Flexi-Wing Regulations and Sauber’s Technical Upgrades
Sauber is set to introduce significant upgrades to its C45 ahead of the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix, including a revised stiffer front wing designed to comply with new flex testing regulations.
Gabriel Bortoleto discussed the implications of these changes during a recent media session. “An upgrade in Formula 1 is often considered a game-changer, but we expect this to be a step forward rather than a drastic shift,” he remarked. He noted the importance of on-track testing to assess the effectiveness of the new components: “We hope it will provide an improvement, but we need to evaluate its performance during practice.”
Regarding the impact of the revised flex tests, Bortoleto expressed cautious optimism. “While I don’t anticipate radical differences, we may experience the effects less than other teams,” he stated.
As the team prepares for Spain, the focus remains on translating technical advancements into competitive gains. Confirmations of the new parts will be finalized in the coming days as Sauber aims to enhance its performance on the grid.
