Norris Prepares for Home Challenge Amidst Title Race with Piastri
As the Formula 1 paddock gears up for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Lando Norris has called on fans to support both him and teammate Oscar Piastri amid their tight championship battle. Norris, who won the last race in Austria, is currently 15 points behind Piastri in the driver standings.
In a recent press conference during the Austrian Grand Prix, Norris addressed potential fan reactions at his home event, urging a supportive atmosphere: “The British fans are normally very accepting for all of us and especially for us as McLaren,” he stated.
Piastri reflected on the fans’ reception, recalling a previous year when he received unexpected cheers. “I think the fans in general this year have been a bit nicer to us,” he noted, highlighting an absence of hostility even from rival supporters.
Despite the intensified championship pressure, Norris expressed that he doesn’t feel additional burden heading into Silverstone. “It’s a place I want to win more than anywhere else,” he said, indicating excitement rather than stress. “It puts a bit more of a smile on my face every morning.”
The British Grand Prix is scheduled for July 4-6, promising a showcase of talent as both McLaren drivers aim for victory on home soil.
