Max Verstappen Affirms Commitment to Red Bull Despite 2025 Struggles
Max Verstappen, the four-time Formula 1 world champion, has reiterated his intention to remain with Red Bull Racing amidst challenges posed by the 2025 car and increasing competition from McLaren.
Since joining Red Bull in 2016, Verstappen has achieved remarkable success, securing 63 race victories and four consecutive world championships from 2021 to 2024. However, the current season has presented significant hurdles, with the car’s performance failing to meet expectations.
In an interview with De Telegraaf, Verstappen stated, “I’ve always said that to the team. That’s the intention, unless strange things happen… but that is not my intention at the moment.” Despite his commitment, rumors persist regarding potential moves to other teams, including Aston Martin and Mercedes.
Verstappen emphasized the need for improvement, particularly following a disappointing fourth-place finish in Miami. “The next few races are very important… for my future,” he noted, highlighting the team’s focus on bridging the gap to championship leaders McLaren.
Looking ahead, Verstappen has dismissed speculation about a possible break from racing, asserting, “There is no question of that; my intention is to last in Formula 1 at least through 2028.”
With Red Bull set to introduce upgrades at the upcoming Imola Grand Prix, the team aims to enhance performance and support Verstappen in regaining his competitive edge.
