Risi Competizione Returns to Rolex 24 with Strong Lineup
DAYTONA BEACH, FL – After a year away from the Rolex 24 at Daytona, Risi Competizione is poised for a competitive return. The Texas-based team, winners of the Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) Pro class in the 2024 race, has prepared diligently over the past year, working closely with a technical partner, DragonSpeed.
The team will field a formidable trio in their No. 62 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, comprising Daniel Serra, Davide Rigon, and Alessandro Pier Guidi. While Serra and Rigon are full-season drivers, Pier Guidi joins specifically for the endurance classic.
“I’m very happy to be back with Risi and to start this season in Daytona, which is one of my favorite races,” Serra remarked. “We have a lot of data from the Roar [Before the 24] to analyze, and I’m looking forward to the race.”
The squad has a notable record at Daytona, achieving two wins, five second-place finishes, and one third in their 18 starts from 1999 to 2024.
Rigon commented on the pre-race preparation, stating, “We worked a lot during the Roar to find the best setup for the race and the season. We’re motivated to do our best this week.”
One change to the driver lineup is the absence of James Calado, who contributed to the previous victory. However, Pier Guidi’s presence brings added experience, enhancing the team’s prospects.
“I hope to repeat what we did in 2024,” said Pier Guidi, emphasizing the team’s smooth performance during testing.
As Risi Competizione gears up for the 2025 IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup, expectations are high. The Rolex 24 serves as both a critical season opener and a test of the team’s potential for the endurance series ahead.
