Aaron Plessinger Likely Out for Remainder of 2026 450SX Season
BIRMINGHAM, AL – Red Bull KTM Factory Racing announced today that Aaron Plessinger is likely to miss the remainder of the 2026 AMA Supercross Championship due to a significant hip injury. Following a medical evaluation, it has been confirmed that Plessinger suffers from a labral tear, necessitating extensive rehabilitation.
Plessinger, who was sidelined during the Detroit round, had aimed for a return at Round 12 in St. Louis. However, the severity of his injuries—which include bruising and stiffness affecting his hip, wrist, knee, arm, and shoulder—has led to a decision to prioritize recovery. Currently positioned 12th in the standings, his highest finish this season was a sixth-place at Daytona.
“A MRI scan confirms that I have a labral tear in my hip, and I’m feeling super stiff and sore,” Plessinger stated. “Knowing I probably won’t race the remaining rounds is disappointing, especially since the team has put in a lot of effort this season. But we all agree that racing at 50 percent isn’t an option. I’m committed to healing properly and returning when I’m fully fit.”
With six rounds left in the Supercross season, if Plessinger cannot return, the focus will shift to the Pro Motocross series later this year.
