Injury Update: Aaron Plessinger Out for Detroit SX
In a significant development ahead of the 11th round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross in Detroit, Red Bull KTM announced that rider Aaron Plessinger will not participate due to the lingering effects of crashes sustained in recent races, most notably a DNF at Birmingham SX last Saturday.
Plessinger’s season has been marked by challenges, including several notable crashes. Despite these setbacks, he achieved a season-best sixth-place finish at Daytona SX, accumulating his sixth top-ten result of the year. As of now, he ranks tenth in the 450SX standings entering the Detroit event.
The KTM team will continue to compete with both Eli Tomac and Jorge Prado in Michigan, aiming to capitalize on their experience and skills as they seek strong finishes in Plessinger’s absence.
A statement from Red Bull KTM emphasized Plessinger’s intention to take the time needed to recover, underscoring the importance of athlete health and safety in the high-stakes environment of professional motorsports.
