Turner Takes Victory at Unadilla: Race Report

In a commanding performance at Unadilla, Hailey Turner secured her fourth overall win of the season with a 2-1 finish across both motos. Turner took the lead early in the first moto but faced a challenge from Charli Cannon, who ultimately secured the first moto victory after Turner faltered on the final lap. Reflecting on her day, Turner noted, "The first moto didn’t go as planned for me, but I capitalized on my opportunities in the second moto. We made some adjustments and it paid off."

Despite her crash in the first moto, Cannon rebounded firmly to clinch a strong second-place finish overall, showcasing her resilience. Mikayla Nielsen, who finished third overall, struggled with bike setup and track familiarity throughout the day. She admitted, “It was tough to get comfortable. I had a rough second qualifier, which affected my confidence. I’m just glad to finish safely and will focus on improvements for the next round.”

Turner’s performance solidifies her position at the top of the leaderboard, while Nielsen remains a formidable competitor as the only other rider to achieve an overall win this season. As the series progresses, all eyes will be on how the riders adjust and prepare for the upcoming rounds, particularly after challenging conditions at Unadilla.
