Cochran Out of Southwick Motos After Dislocated Shoulder
Southwick, MA – Casey Cochran of Rockstar Energy GASGAS Factory Racing will miss both motos at the Southwick National due to a dislocated shoulder sustained during the second qualifying session. Cochran recorded the ninth-fastest time earlier in the day but could not compete post-injury.
Team Manager Sean Murphy expressed his disappointment, stating, "It was very unfortunate that Casey crashed during qualifying. He’s shown great potential this motocross season, and it’s tough to see him have to sit out at Southwick." The team is thankful for the Alpinestars medical crew’s efforts in managing Cochran’s injury. An MRI is scheduled for next week to assess the severity of the dislocation.
Cochran, who previously missed the entire Monster Energy AMA Supercross season due to a broken leg, had demonstrated promise upon his return to the AMA Pro Motocross Championship. His performance included finishes of 12th, 11th, seventh, and eighth in his first four outings, showcasing his speed in challenging conditions. Despite this setback, he currently ranks 14th in the 250 Class championship standings ahead of the upcoming RedBud National this weekend. Further evaluations will determine his recovery timeline.
