AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Announces 2025 Nominees
PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has officially unveiled the 17 nominees for the Hall of Fame Class of 2025, with voting now underway. This year’s candidates have been recognized for their significant contributions to motorcycling, spanning various domains including racing, engineering, and advocacy.
AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman remarked, "These individuals have played an instrumental role in the growth of motorcycling… We are proud to recognize them as nominees for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame."
Key Nominees:

Bill Ballance: A dominant force in ATV racing, Ballance secured nine consecutive GNCC ATV XC1 championships from 2000 to 2008 and recorded 67 national event wins.

Colin Edwards: Known as the "Texas Tornado," Edwards clinched two World Superbike titles and won the AMA 250cc Grand Prix Championship in 1992, amassing 31 wins in WSBK and 12 podiums in MotoGP.

Jerry Griffith: The mastermind behind the Honda RS750, Griffith’s designs contributed to five AMA Grand National Championships from 1983 to 1998.

Billy Hamill: A key figure in speedway racing, Hamill became the fourth American to win the FIM Speedway World Championship in 1996 and has five AMA National Championships to his name.

Joe Kopp: Kopp captured the 2000 AMA Grand National Championship and is noted for his 21 career wins, making him 17th among all-time greats.

Carl Patrick: Renowned for his engine building, Patrick powered riders to 20 AMA Grand National Championships over his career.

Chad Reed: An Australian legend in AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross with 61 wins, Reed also holds records for most Supercross Main Event starts and podium finishes.

Dana Bell: A pivotal advocate for motorcyclists’ rights, Bell was honored with the AMA Motorcycling Advocate Award for her advocacy efforts.

Chris Carter: The founder of Motion Pro Inc., Carter has made significant contributions to tool design and support for motorcycle-related charities.

Selvaraj Narayana: A key figure at KTM, Narayana has driven the brand’s growth in AMA Supercross and received the Dud Perkins Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020.

Donald Rich: Renowned for his aftermarket innovations in Harley-Davidson, including the influential Thunderheader exhaust system.

John Taylor: As the creator of the Yankee 500Z motorcycle, Taylor left a unique mark in motorcycle history.

Michael Czysz: A pioneer in electric motorcycle design, Czysz’s innovations at the Isle of Man solidified his legacy.

Eraldo Ferracci: Founder of Team Fast by Ferracci Ducati, he is celebrated for restoring Ducati’s presence in competitive racing.

Richard Gross: A legendary tuner for the Indian Wrecking Crew, Gross’s innovations significantly impacted dirt track racing in the 1950s.

Charles Umbenhauer: For over 30 years, Umbenhauer has championed motorcyclist advocacy in Pennsylvania, earning the 2015 AMA Dud Perkins Lifetime Achievement Award.
- Ryan Young: With six consecutive AMA/NATC Championships, Young has also contributed to trials through education and product development.
Voting will conclude on June 16 at 11:59 p.m. Eligible voters include previous Hall of Fame inductees, AMA Board members, and Life Members. Results will be announced following the voting period, with the induction ceremony scheduled for October 23 in Pickerington, Ohio.
