Davies Claims 2025 Rookie of the Year Despite Setback at Finale

In a compelling conclusion to the 2025 season, New Zealand’s Josh Davies showcased remarkable talent in his rookie year of the 250SX West Division, securing four podium finishes, including two main event victories. His ascent was abruptly halted during qualifying at the season finale, where a crash resulted in injury, preventing him from competing in the main event.

Prior to the incident, Davies was poised to finish second in the championship standings. However, his misfortune allowed Julien Beaumer to capitalize and secure the runner-up position.

Despite the disappointing end to his season, Davies’ achievements were recognized with the 2025 250SX Rookie of the Year honor. His mechanic, Lachlan "Lachie" Mills, accepted the award on his behalf while Davies was receiving medical attention.

This season marks a significant milestone for the 17-year-old, highlighting his potential within the sport and setting the stage for future successes.
