Deacon Denno Clinches 2026 SMX Next Supercross AMA National Championship in Philadelphia Finale

Deacon Denno of Triumph emerged victorious in the 2026 SMX Next Supercross AMA National Championship, securing his second race win of the season in a challenging muddy finale at Philadelphia. The 18-year-old rider captured the championship in a high-stakes, winner-takes-all showdown.

From the start, the race proved perilous as title contender Kayden Minear collided in turn one, allowing Denno to seize the holeshot and maintain control. He led all six laps of the main event, demonstrating a commanding performance to claim the victory and the coveted #1 plate. This win marks Denno’s third podium finish out of five races in his second year with the program.

Reflecting on his achievement, Denno stated, “It was huge to have the confidence from all the other rounds. Those podiums were great, and the win in Daytona boosted my confidence for this race.”

He emphasized the value of the SMX Next program in preparing young talents for the professional circuit, despite the unique format that differs from traditional championship point systems. “It gets you ready or as close as you can be for the pros… the conditions today, from mud to dry, showed the program’s efficacy,” he added.

In a post-race interview, Denno conveyed a sense of disbelief at his accomplishment, indicating that the significance of his victory had yet to fully register. “It’s kind of surreal… after I sleep tonight and wake up in the morning, it’ll probably sink in,” he noted.

As the season progresses, Denno’s performance raises expectations for future competitions, showcasing his readiness for the challenges ahead.
