Ferrandis Out of Birmingham Supercross Due to Ongoing Thumb Injury
Corona, CA — Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati Factory Racing’s Dylan Ferrandis will miss Round 10 of the AMA Supercross Championship in Birmingham, Alabama, as he continues to recover from a thumb injury sustained during the Daytona event.
Ferrandis injured his thumb during the 450SX heat race at Daytona International Speedway, where he faced difficulties in the main event following a second crash. This injury subsequently led to his absence in the Indianapolis round, giving him time for recovery.
Despite returning to practice this week, Ferrandis and his team concluded that his hand strength has not sufficiently recovered, preventing him from competing safely. The team will continue to monitor his rehabilitation and provide updates regarding his return to racing.
