Ferrandis Shines in Return at Detroit Supercross
Dylan Ferrandis made a significant comeback at the Detroit Supercross, achieving a season-best finish of seventh, marking the best result for Ducati this season. After missing the Indianapolis and Birmingham rounds due to a thumb injury sustained during Daytona, Ferrandis returned to competitive racing with renewed focus.
Prior to Detroit, Ferrandis’s results had been inconsistent, with finishes ranging from 9th to a disappointing 22nd in his previous eight main events. However, his performance in Detroit showcased a noticeable improvement.
“I am happy for the team and all the sponsors, TLD, Red Bull Ducati, and everybody on the team,” Ferrandis commented in the post-race release. “I got a good start, but I was lacking a little bit of pace for sure… Overall, I think it’s the best I could have done today with a 7th. I’m happy about that and happy for the team.”
Team manager Josh Wisenor praised Ferrari’s earlier performance at Daytona before his crash, crediting the installation of an Akrapovič header pipe for enhancing the bike’s performance. Wisenor expressed confidence that with Ferrandis back to health and competing on an upgraded machine, improvement is not only possible but expected as the season progresses.
As Ferrandis seeks to regain his rhythm and leverage the enhanced capabilities of his bike, all eyes will be on his future performances in upcoming races.
