Tomac Retains Points Lead Amid Performance Concerns in Supercross

Eli Tomac remains at the top of the standings in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series, despite waning form in recent races. The four-time race winner’s puzzling performances have raised questions following a third-place finish in Birmingham and a fifth-place finish in Detroit—results that significantly lagged behind his usual pace.

In an interview with Tom Journet during press day, Tomac addressed the speculation: “Yeah, physically I’m fine. I’m good, I’m good. Birmingham I was just a little bit under the weather if I want to make an excuse about anything. Last week? Just not great riding.”

Tomac dominated the early rounds of the season, showcasing speed that set him apart from competitors. His ability to reclaim that level of performance is crucial for maintaining his lead in the championship as the season progresses. If he can quickly return to form, the red plate may stay in his possession through the remainder of the campaign.

The next series of races will be pivotal as Tomac seeks to stabilize his performance and fend off challengers.
