Enzo Temmerman Suffers Serious Injury Ahead of SMX Next Season
Enzo Temmerman, the promising young rider for Monster Energy Kawasaki, has sustained a significant leg injury just as he was gearing up for the 2025 SMX Next – Supercross AMA National Championship. Temmerman suffered a broken femur in a crash during training, re-injuring the same leg he had previously fractured.
Temmerman’s 2025 season had been stellar, highlighted by multiple victories in SMX Next qualifying events and a second-place finish at the Pittsburgh SMX Next Championship finale. He also dominated the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, winning five out of six motos and earning the prestigious Nicky Hayden AMA Motocross Horizon Award. His success this year was attributed to a healthy off-season, a welcome change after enduring a series of injuries that sidelined him previously.
In an Instagram post detailing his latest misfortune, Temmerman expressed deep frustration over the incident, stating, “Had a surgery after SMX in hopes to fix a lingering leg injury… just got back to riding supercross a few weeks ago. Had a crash and broke the same femur.”
Kawasaki has confirmed that Temmerman will not participate in the upcoming SMX Next – Supercross AMA National Championship, which kicks off at Anaheim 2. They announced, “Stay tuned for updates on Enzo and his return to racing,” indicating the team’s commitment to monitoring his recovery closely.
This injury marks a significant setback for Temmerman as he aims to reclaim his spot in the competitive supercross field.
