Motorsports Report: GNCC Highlights and Standout Performances

The recent round of the AMA National Grand Championship (GNCC) showcased intense competition across multiple classes, particularly in the Women’s XC (WXC) and Youth Bike categories.

WXC Race Summary:
In a thrilling battle for third place, AmPro Yamaha’s Danielle McDonald clinched the spot from Rockstar Energy Factory Husqvarna Racing’s Korie Steede with a decisive last-lap pass. McDonald finished third, while Steede secured fourth. Enduro Engineering’s Shelby Turner capped off the top five in the WXC class.

Youth Bike Competitions:
The YXC1 Super Mini Sr. (14-15) class delivered a fierce contest between Cooper Duff and Travis Lentz. After initially trailing, Duff made a successful pass to not only win his class but also take the overall victory. Lentz followed closely for second overall in both the class and the race. Phillip Arnold emerged as the top finisher in the YXC2 Super Mini Jr. (12-13) class, securing third overall.

  • Lawson Cogar (Trail Rider 7-15)

Micro Bike Class Performances:
In a remarkable achievement, Pittsburgh’s Josh Erny celebrated his first Micro Bike overall victory, also winning the MXC1 class. He was followed by Kane Morrison and Cade Propst, who secured second and third places overall. Kash Brummage dominated the MXC2 class, while wins were also noted in various age-specific classes across the 50cc categories.

AMSOIL Moto Hero Award:
Shaw Girard from St. Marys, West Virginia, was recognized as the AMSOIL Moto Hero, honoring his 11 years of service in the U.S. Army and ongoing commitment as a firefighter. He received a $250 AMSOIL shopping spree, a discount certificate from Kanati Tires, and additional gifts.

The Progressive GNCC Racing Series is set to continue on October 10-12, 2025, at the Wiseco John Penton GNCC in Millfield, Ohio, featuring the ninth round of the Specialized eMTB GNCC National Championship. Further information can be accessed through the event’s official communications.
