Harlan Injured at Hangtown Motocross Classic, Out for Upcoming Races
Grant Harlan sustained injuries following a crash at the Hangtown Motocross Classic on Saturday, requiring hospitalization. The rider for Gizmo Mods Rock River Yamaha Racing finished 14th in the first moto but encountered difficulties early in the second, resulting in a significant crash that culminated in a rib injury.
In an Instagram update, Harlan revealed, “I got cross jumped and ended up breaking some ribs. I will be out for this weekend’s Thunder Valley National and more than likely next weekend too,” as he referred to the subsequent event at High Point National on June 14.
Though Harlan faced challenges in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross this season, he had demonstrated resilience in the AMA Pro Championship, accumulating multiple top 15 finishes since turning pro in 2020. Before his injury, he had registered results of 14th, 11th, and 14th in the opening motos of the season.
Despite the setback, Harlan remains positive, stating, “Welp bummer weekend for me… I found my groove with the heat and was able to get to p14. Unfortunately got cross jumped pretty bad and will be out for a bit. Bummed but going to heal up and come back as soon as physically possible.”
His absence will be felt as he seeks to recover and return to form in the competitive 450 Pro Motocross series.
