Galfer Brakes Revamps U.S. Operations with New Subsidiary
Granollers, Spain – Galfer Brakes, a veteran in high-performance brake components for nearly 75 years, is strategically overhauling its U.S. distribution. The Spanish company has established Galfer USA as a subsidiary to enhance its North American market presence. Leading this initiative is Armando Riva, who outlined the ambitious plan during a recent interview at the EICMA show in November.
Riva, who transitioned from Michigan to Orlando for this role, emphasized the fresh start that Galfer USA represents. “I’m responsible for all aspects, from hiring to logistics,” he stated, underscoring the comprehensive approach to establish the new operation. The facility aims to build robust connections with local distributors, reflecting Galfer’s commitment to integrate into the American motorcycle market.
Operational Strategy and Customer Engagement
The new team will initially focus on internal structures, including customer service and logistics management, with an eye toward expanding sales personnel in 2026. Riva noted the importance of gaining trust from existing customers familiar with the Galfer name, leveraging prior brand recognition in the market.
Galfer’s long-standing heritage—proudly approaching its 75th anniversary—underscores its commitment to innovation and performance. The company boasts a catalog of approximately 1,500 products, specifically designed for the motorcycle sector. Riva highlighted that developments in motorsports directly inform consumer product offerings: “Anything we learn in racing is built into what the consumer can buy.”
Future Innovations
While specifics remain undisclosed, Galfer USA plans to introduce significant new products in 2026, reinforcing its mission to translate racing technology into consumer solutions. Riva reflected on the challenges and opportunities of launching a subsidiary focused on both autonomy and collaboration with its Spanish headquarters in Granollers, adjacent to the renowned Barcelona circuit.
“The independence allows us to tailor strategies to North American customers, while still benefiting from the insights of our European base,” Riva explained.
As Galfer USA embarks on this transformative journey, the industry will be keen to observe its impact and innovations as the company aims to redefine its footprint in the competitive U.S. motorsports landscape.
