MXGP Qualifying Race Report: Längenfelder Dominates Amidst Chaos
In a dramatic Qualifying Race at the Zelta Zirgs Motocenter, Simon Längenfelder of Team Red Bull KTM Factory Racing secured a commanding victory in the ultra-competitive 250cc class, finishing 11 seconds ahead of the field. His win marked a return to form, earning him the opportunity to reclaim the red plate for the upcoming main event.
The race unfolded explosively right from the start. Längenfelder executed a flawless holeshot, while Sacha Coenen, who had been the fastest in practice, collided with Monster Energy Triumph Racing’s Guillem Farres. Coenen attempted a cutback maneuver on Längenfelder but misjudged the track’s soft conditions, leading to additional collisions that knocked both Andrea Adamo and Valerio Lata off their bikes.
As the race progressed, Daigo Reisulis emerged as a strong contender, initially challenging Längenfelder for the lead but eventually settling for third place behind French rider Thomas Benistant.
