Shimoda Shows Promise in 250SX East Opener

Arlington, TX — Jet Lawrence’s title competitor, Jo Shimoda, made a notable return at the 250SX East opener, qualifying 15th but displaying resilience and determination throughout the evening.

Despite limited recent practice, Shimoda expressed confidence in his ability to perform under pressure. “I was feeling pretty rusty,” he admitted, “but my adrenaline kicks in at the race.” His pre-event strategy focused on incremental improvements with his setup from the previous season, emphasizing jumps and starts.

In the heat race, Shimoda secured the holeshot before a red flag disrupted the action. He replicated this performance in the main event, demonstrating his competitiveness even as he acknowledges ongoing adjustments to his bike. “I was honestly a little bit tired at the end, but I still felt sharp,” he noted.

Team manager Lars Lindstrom stressed that Shimoda’s goal post-injury was to race at this event. Reflecting on his performance, Shimoda aimed for a top-ten finish, with aspirations for better results as the championship progresses. “I think we have lots of things to work on,” he stated. “It’s a long series too.”

As the 250SX season unfolds, Shimoda’s ability to maintain composure and make calculated improvements will be critical in his battle for points and positioning in the championship standings.
