High Point Raceway: Anticipation Builds for Round 5 of AMA Motocross

As the 2025 AMA Motocross season intensifies at High Point Raceway, key riders emerge as frontrunners in both the 450 and 250 Classes. Jett Lawrence continues his dominate streak, holding the overall wins with a flawless 3-0 record to start the season on his CRF450R. However, fierce competition looms, most notably from Hunter Lawrence, Eli Tomac, Aaron Plessinger, and Justin Cooper, all eager to disrupt the #18’s momentum in the expected challenging conditions of off-camber hills and possible mud.

In the 250 Class, Chance Hymas aims to capitalize on his first-ever 1-1 performance, setting the stage for a heated showdown with championship leader Haiden Deegan. Deegan, who started the season with four consecutive moto victories, faced a setback with two second-place finishes in Colorado last weekend. Rising contenders Jo Shimoda and Garrett Marchbanks are also expected to contend for podium positions.

Ty Masterpool, last year’s overall winner at this venue—marking the 300th win for Mitch Payton’s Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki team—seeks to replicate his success. Meanwhile, Jalek Swoll returns to racing after an Achilles tendon injury sidelined him earlier this season. Notably, Swoll captured his first overall at High Point in 2021, adding to the narrative of returning riders eager to re-establish their form.

With highly competitive fields and numerous storylines, today’s events promise to be pivotal in shaping the 2025 season landscape.
