2025 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship: Round 2 Report
Redcliffe, QLD – The second round of the 2025 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship, held at Kayo Stadium, showcased intense competition and emotional victories in a thrilling double-header that resonated with fans and competitors alike.
YAMAHA SX1: Dean Wilson Clinches Emotional Win
Dean Wilson (Quad Lock Honda Racing) followed his Round 1 success with a dominant performance in the SX1 class. After a chaotic start in Final 1, where Luke Clout (Penrite Empire Kawasaki) suffered a mechanical failure, Wilson took control of the race, demonstrating both skill and composure.
Wilson’s victory was particularly poignant; he dedicated the win to his late mother, who passed away earlier that day. “This one means a lot. I just wanted to ride strong for my family,” an emotional Wilson stated during the podium interview. Cedric Soubeyras (Boost Mobile Honda Racing) secured second, while Hayden Mellross (Mellross Homes Motorsport) completed the podium in third.
DEWALT SX2: Lux Turner Secures Back-to-Back Wins
In the SX2 class, Lux Turner (Yamalube Yamaha Racing) continued his strong start to the season, winning both finals and extending his championship lead amid early race chaos that hampered competitors including Wilson Todd and Shane McElrath.
Turner’s consistent performance earned him the top spot, while Todd recovered toclaim second overall, and Kaleb Barham took third. Reflecting on his success, Turner commented, “The pressure was high, but I just focused on executing every lap.”
SX3: Kayd Kingsford Dominates
Kayd Kingsford (Honda) maintained his exceptional form in the SX3 class, leading every lap to claim victory ahead of Jack Deveson and Hayden Downie. Kingsford’s flawless execution sets the benchmark early in the championship. “I just tried to stay smooth and out front. The whole Honda team has been amazing all weekend,” he noted.

The event attracted massive attendance, with fans energized by the high-stakes racing. AUSX Co-Founder Adam Bailey remarked, “This weekend captured everything Supercross is about—heart, rivalry, and world-class entertainment.”
