Vohland Secures First Podium Finish in Pittsburgh Supercross

Pittsburgh, PA – Max Vohland achieved a significant milestone in his career by landing on the podium with a third-place finish at the Supercross event in Pittsburgh. This outcome marked a pivotal moment in a season characterized by both challenges and steady improvement.

Entering the race, Vohland’s previous results included finishes of 21st, 9th, 5th, 10th, 6th, 18th, 8th, and 6th, highlighting a journey of gradual progress. Acknowledging his preference for the technical demands of the 250SX East Division tracks, Vohland stated, “I honestly like it… I like when it’s more rutted and rough, and honestly, Dirt Wurx have been doing a crazy, crazy good job with prepping the tracks this year.”

Adaptation has been key for Vohland, particularly in managing a foot drop issue. He incorporated starting blocks to enhance his launch from the gate, noting, “I’ve been dragging my bad foot a little bit… just been touching the dirt… So, we’re on some very small blocks now to where my feet stay above the ground.”

Throughout the season, Vohland has reported remaining free of significant injuries, enabling him to build momentum. “Health wise, I’m good… I haven’t had many crashes… it’s been a bit of a building year for me,” he explained, expressing his desire to further improve his standings before the season concludes.

Vohland’s podium finish came after inheriting third place following a late crash by RJ Hampshire. Reflecting on his journey back from a serious injury last year, he said, "It was such a long road… there were a lot of days when I didn’t even know if I’d ever be able to race again."

This podium finish not only signifies a breakthrough for Vohland but also underscores his resilience and determination to succeed in a competitive field. As the season progresses, he aims to continue building on this success.
