Houston Supercross: Deegan Dominates While Mosiman Struggles

In the inaugural Triple Crown event of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross season held in Houston, Haiden Deegan showcased his dominance by sweeping the 250SX Class with a perfect 1-1-1 performance. This victory enabled him to extend his lead in the championship standings.

Michael Mosiman, who had a promising showing at Anaheim 2 where he led for 11 laps before being overtaken by Deegan, faced significant challenges in Houston. Mosiman, riding the #23 Yamaha, finished the night with placements of 4th, 14th, and 8th, resulting in an overall 8th position—his first finish outside the top five this season. A crash early in the second race severely impacted his overall performance, relegating him to a deep position in the field.

Following the event, Mosiman reflected on his experience: “It was a tough night in Houston. It started out solid in qualifying and the first main event, but in the second race, I fell early and struggled to get the bike started. I was able to work my way back some, but that mistake was costly. Then in the last moto, I struggled to find a flow. Eighth overall was not the night I was hoping for, but there is a lot to learn from tonight, and I will make better decisions going forward. That’s how progress is made.”

After this event, Mosiman slips to third in the championship standings, now 20 points behind Deegan and just one point behind teammate Max Anstie. As the season progresses, Mosiman will be looking to regain his momentum and reclaim his position near the top of the leaderboard.
