Buenos Aires Supercross Report: Race Highlights and Key Results

In a competitive evening of Supercross action in Buenos Aires, Team GSM’s Max Anstie demonstrated his prowess by securing the top spot in SX2 qualifying aboard his Star Racing Yamaha YZ250F. He was joined in the Super Pole by Bud Racing Kawasaki’s Cole Thompson, Enzo Lopes from Rick Ware Racing, and Michael Hicks of Stark, marking a strong qualifying session. Notably, MCR Honda’s Cullin Park experienced a setback, losing his qualifying time due to a sound violation, dropping him from fourth to eighth. Anstie excelled in the Super Pole, clinching the first gate pick for the main event.

In SX1, Ken Roczen of Pipes Motorsports Group Suzuki overcame a stomach bug to dominate qualifying, taking the top position. Roczen was joined in the Super Pole by Justin Cooper (Monster Energy Star Yamaha), Joey Savatgy (Quad Lock Honda), and teammate Jason Anderson, with the final rankings mirroring their qualifying order.

The SX2 sprint race kicked off with Anstie securing the holeshot, shortly overtaken by Moto Concepts Racing’s Noah Viney. However, Anstie reclaimed the lead by the end of the first lap, ultimately securing a straightforward victory. Kyle Peters from Venom Bud Racing followed closely in second, while Park advanced to finish third despite a chaotic start that saw defending WSX SX2 champion Shane McElrath struggle from nearly last place.

In SX1, Roczen once again showcased his skills with a strong start, while Christian Craig, in his debut with Quad Lock Honda, positioned himself in second. Haiden Deegan of Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha faced a challenging night after a misstep in gate selection following a lackluster qualifying performance. Deegan spun off the line, starting in twelfth position and struggled throughout the race.

Overall, the Buenos Aires event highlighted key performances while setting the stage for future rounds in the championship series.
