Deegan Dominates at Western Divisional 250SMX Class Race

In a commanding display of skill and speed, Haiden Deegan of Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing clinched his fourth consecutive victory in the fifth race of the Western Divisional 250SMX Class. Deegan, the reigning West champion, secured the holeshot in the Main Event and quickly established a lead that he maintained throughout the race, finishing 4.1 seconds ahead of the competition.

Fellow Yamaha rider Michael Mosiman chased Deegan from second place, while Cameron McAdoo of Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki and Ryder DiFrancesco of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing were locked in a battle for third, with McAdoo initially holding the position. However, DiFrancesco briefly claimed it before McAdoo regained his footing.

Noteworthy was Levi Kitchen’s performance, who, after starting in 19th, made an impressive charge through the pack to finish in second place. With less than three minutes remaining, Kitchen passed both McAdoo, moving into podium contention, and later overtook Mosiman for second place with 90 seconds left on the clock, narrowing the gap to Deegan as the race concluded.

Deegan’s victory marked the 11th of his career, significantly enhancing his lead in the Western Divisional standings. He now holds a 27-point advantage over Mosiman, who placed fourth, while DiFrancesco rounded out the top five, trailing 29 points behind the leader. McAdoo and Kitchen remain in fifth and sixth positions, respectively.

This event solidified Deegan’s dominance in the series, with clear implications for the championship as the season progresses.
