DiFrancesco on the Path to Improvement After Injury

In a recent update, motocross athlete DiFrancesco discussed his recovery and preparation for the upcoming Supercross season, following a significant injury that had both physical and mental impacts. Despite initial doubts about his mental readiness to race, he emphasized his return to form as he continues to work through the psychological challenges.

“I thought I overcame it at first, but then I started racing again and I was struggling with it,” DiFrancesco explained regarding the lingering effects of his injuries. He credited his support team for assisting him in overcoming these hurdles, stating, “With the good people around me, I was ready to go race.”

Physically, DiFrancesco has made notable gains in strength and recovery, attributing his improved condition to his trainer Joe Cancellieri. He remarked on the benefits of increased muscle mass, indicating he now experiences less soreness after rides compared to previous years. “All the crashes I’ve had this year… could have been much worse,” he noted, highlighting the importance of his enhanced physical condition during challenging moments on the track.

As he gears up for the season, DiFrancesco expressed confidence in his training, assuring that he is more consistent on the bike. “I’ve done…I don’t even know how many motos this year already,” he stated. “Just knowing that I can put 60 good laps in a day is a pretty good stress reliever.”

Looking ahead to the A1 race, he feels significantly better prepared than last year: “I’m leaps and bounds ahead of where I was going into A1 last year.” DiFrancesco is focused on achieving podium positions this season, highlighting the influence of Davi Millsaps in his preparation.

“I have pretty high hopes for myself,” he concluded, setting a positive tone as he approaches a pivotal point in his career.
